AED Machine
An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a portable device that delivers an electric shock to the heart. It has the ability to stop an irregular heart and to allow a normal rhythm following sudden cardiac arrest. This machine can save a life.
Our AED machine at BLC is located on the wall in the gathering space to the right of the church office door. If someone has collapsed or has had a heart attack below are steps you can take to use the AED machine.
- Try to wake the person if they have collapsed.
- Call 911 and get the AED.
- Tell the emergency operator the person has collapsed and you have an AED.
- Turn on the AED and follow the voice prompts.
Below you can view the specifics of how to use the AED machine we have at BLC.
